Notes:
"Living with the Flow" shows the unique ink language that Huang Yao gradually formed during his stay in Southeast Asia. This paper-based color work depicts the fluidity of water and the free posture of life with light and free brushstrokes. It not only has the "freehand spirit" in traditional Chinese literati paintings, but also reveals the vigorous, tropical and free rhythm of life in the natural environment of Southeast Asia. Huang Yao is one of the important cultural and artistic figures in China in the 20th century. In the 1930s, he created the cartoon "A Pu" under the pen name "Niubi Huang Lao Xie". Later, he lived in Southeast Asia, and his artistic style gradually changed from satirical humor to philosophical and poetic ink exploration. He combined Taoist thoughts, children's painting vocabulary and modern diagrams to develop a free expression between oriental classical and modern vision. In "Living with the Flow", Huang Yao uses his unique symbolic characters and smart brushwork to express the life view of "going with the flow". The picture is full of interest, the ink color is rich, and it is full of the subtle lyricism of oriental wisdom. Although his painting style is simple, it is profound in meaning, presenting the artistic concept of "childlike innocence is the heart of Taoism".
- Condition: Please enquire via email to [email protected]
