This contemplative work by Thai artist Tawatchai Somkong exemplifies the artist's distinctive visual language of symbolic abstraction and metaphysical inquiry. Emerging from his celebrated Me and Them series, first presented during his solo exhibition in Delhi, the painting reflects Tawatchai's ongoing meditation on individuality, coexistence, and the spiritual condition of humanity. A solitary white form rises amidst undulating organic terrain and floating cloud-like shapes, evoking both a figure and a sacred monument. The restrained palette of earthen golds and muted greys lends the composition a meditative stillness, while the textured surfaces and rhythmic contours create a dreamlike psychological landscape suspended between reality and imagination.
Tawatchai Somkong gained significant recognition in 1995 when he received the top award in painting at the 2nd Thailand Art Awards organised by the Philip Morris Group of Companies Thailand. In the same year, he was also honoured at the 7th Toshiba "Bring Good Things to Life" Art Competition, affirming his position among the most promising voices in contemporary Thai art of his generation. Shipping
33 Auction's Shipping Department can advise buyers on exporting and shipping property. Please complete and sign the shipping instruction form sent with your invoice if this service is required. Purchases will be despatched as soon as possible upon clearance from the Accounts Department and receipt of your written despatch instructions and of any export licence or certificates that may be required. Shipping will be arranged at buyer's expense. Your shipper will include a quote for transit insurance. All shipments should be unpacked and checked on delivery and any discrepancies notified to the transit insurer or shipper immediately.
