"The Wealthy Road", Andri Boy Kurniawan uses his signature ironic painting language to sketch out an allegorical scene about consumerism and social class. The composition is complex, populated with numerous characters featuring grotesque and exaggerated forms, bright and vibrant colors, and is heavily influenced by comic art and street culture. Through layered visual narratives, the artist reveals the greed, competition, and false promises involved in the pursuit of “getting rich,” forming a satirical and thought-provoking social microcosm.
